Employment Law Breakfast Bite: Social Media in the WorkplacePosted on 5th January 2016
The Maine Group, alongside specialist Employment Lawyers, Draper Lang LLP are hosting a complimentary breakfast bite on Thursday 4th February between 8am – 10am, looking at how to deal with Social Media in the Workplace.
Whether you “like” it or not (we couldn’t resist!), social media at work is here to stay. Employers don’t just need a Social Media Policy they need a social media strategy, and should keep this under regular review.
In this session specialist employment law solicitors Draper Lang LLP will explore the pros and cons of social media in the workplace, how it can be used positively, the risks and common pitfalls to avoid.
This session will help you to:
· Define the role of social media in your workplace – how it is used and what your policies should contain
· Understand when and how you can act – monitoring, recruitment, personal use, bullying, social media related dismissals
· Consider when and how your employees are representing you, and how you can manage it?
· Address issues such as –maintaining confidentiality, intellectual property, ownership of business contacts and restrictive covenants when employees move on.
