Our client, an independent charity, is looking for a Business Manager to join their Improvement Team. You’ll be identifying, supporting, and fast-tracking promising ideas. You’ll be responsible for tracking all progress of internal and external projects, and progressions of financial, budget, and forecasting plans.



Key responsibilities:

- Have informed discussions and provide advice around all proposed projects
- Report any potential issues with projects, and work with Operations to ensure that the correct resolution is found implemented
- Oversee the establishment and audit the proper upkeep of the team’s contract files and electronic audit trails
- Worth with auditors to carry out audits as required and work with the team to take forward recommendations from audits
- Support any reviews or streamlining of internal operational processes and systems
- Produce the Improvement Team’s annual grant budget in parallel with the business planning process
- Ensure all new grants and other costs are accurately recorded in the budget, in line with the charity’s grant commitment process and financial regulations
- Contribute to corporate activities and initiatives, such as staff-meetings, development programmes, and other corporate projects as necessary


Skills and experience:

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent active listening skills
- Demonstrable organisational, operational, and forward-planning skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in successful business management of an ongoing programme of work across a team of people
- Experience in financial oversight of programmes and an understanding of budget management
- A commitment to diversity and inclusions
- Possess a high degree of initiative
- A proven ability to apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and to work collaboratively to deliver effective solutions to business issues
