National Director (Wales) 6m FTC

A 6 month fixed term contract opportunity has arisen in a leading healthcare and research charity. This is a key role, which must be based in the Cardiff office 1-2 days a week, however there is the option to work remotely for the rest of the week. The role will provide effective leadership to the Wales team and work in partnership with key stakeholders across government, NHS and other third sector organisations.

As the National Director, you will be raising awareness of the Charity and it’s mission working with the government and local health boards to improve the delivery of effective care. You will work with and engage health care professionals to help educate, challenge and support them to deliver better health care services, as well as encouraging and liaising with volunteers and local community groups to deliver the charity’s strategy.

Key activities will include:
• Set and deliver strategy and key objectives for the charity
• Influence and deliver change in policy and practice nationally and locally
• Manage the Wales advisory council so that it supports the Wales team in delivering change
• Develop a strategy for engaging with local Healthcare Professionals to educate them in delivering the charity’s mission
• Act as the spokesperson for the charity in local and national media
• Manage the day to day running of the Wales office as well as managing the annual income and expenditure
• Be accountable for the implementation of core compliance policies

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, as well as having a clean UK driving licence as travel between Wales and England will be required as well as travelling across Wales. You must also be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
