Events Manager - Membership - Maine Charity

A leading not for profit association is currently seeking an Events Manager to cover maternity leave for a period of 12 months. You will plan and manage conferences and events, at all levels, including providing assistance to and supporting branches with the organisation of their local events.

Main Responsibilities will include;
- Planning and managing a portfolio of events ranging from small seminars to large conferences and award shows
- Creating detailed event plans to include timelines
- Managing and maintaining budgets for events
- Managing external agencies to support event creation and delivery including AV and corporate materials
- Sourcing venues for the events programme worldwide, creating new and building on existing relationships with venues
- Creating new and building on existing relationships with sponsors, partner organisations and suppliers to obtain maximum value for money, revenue generation and customer satisfaction
 
To apply you should have/be;
- Proven experience in a similar role
- A good understanding of the conference & events industry
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team during onsite events
- Articulate manner with excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Desire to make a difference within a small, friendly team, developing good diplomatic working relationships with colleagues, members and external partners
- Attention to detail, with a calm, organised and methodical approach
- System experience (CVENT, Salesforce, Exact Target) desirable
