Intranet Volunteer at Fairtrade

The Fairtrade Foundation is a passionate and ambitious development organisation committed to tackling poverty and injustice through trade. We are best known as the independent, not-for-profit body behind the FAIRTRADE Mark, a product label assuring consumers that their purchase helps disadvantaged farmers and workers in developing countries secure a better deal. The FAIRTRADE Mark is the best known and most trusted ethical mark amongst UK consumers.
Commitment: We are flexible but would like someone to either see this as a concentrated project to be done almost full time for a short period of time, or for someone to volunteer 1-3 days a week over 2 months.

Role description:
We have recently built a new intranet and are looking for somebody to come in to populate content, increase usage and roll out across the organisation. We would like someone to see this as a project to get our intranet up, running and integrated into the Foundation’s mentality as the first port of call for inter-team and internal communications.

Tasks include:
Updating layout and pages of the intranet
Designing and populating content
Devising a plan for roll out across teams and helping to deliver training to ensure roll out is successful


Skills required:
Working knowledge of Wordpress
Interest and experience in digital and internal communications


What will you have learned / achieved by the end of this assignment?

Delivered a project whereby you have improved the internal communications function at Fairtrade!

The Fairtrade Foundation's offices in the Minories, Aldgate EC3N 1DY.


Do I get expenses?

We provide luncheon vouchers valued at £5 per day if volunteering five or more hours in that day and refund off-peak travel expenses (maximum £15 per day) on production of a receipt or ticket.
