HR Advisor

HR Advisor required for a 12 month FTC. Preferably you will have worked in HR in the retail industry.
A generalist role with a focus on recruitment and ER, also opening of new stores.
Based in Kingston Upon Thames.

HR Advisor overall mission;
? Responsible for running the operation of recruitment through developed processes that relates to securing the organisational needs with a focus on recruitment and selection to deliver the Company’s talent management strategy
? Be an Employment Relations expert through advanced level support to all stakeholders and by leading a variety of complex cases on Disciplinary and Grievance, Performance Management, Absence and Appeal processes

HR Advisor responsibilities:
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current UK employment legislation
• Engaging in and driving forward HR projects
• Input and implementation of HR policies and procedures to achieve contribution to Company strategy
• Provide advice and support to Regional Managers, Functional Managers and Stores – shared point of contract responsibilities with other HR advisor
• Responsibility for all L&D initiatives in the UK and at a Corporate level
• Ability to benchmark, analyse and produce statistical reports when necessary based on own research and in line with company needs
• HR Administration: contracts, employee files and new starters
• Responsible for health and safety updates and annual renewals
• Support with reviews and appraisals for all levels of leadership team
• General administrative duties may include office support, facilities and hotel bookings
• Support for stores and management in absence of the other HR Advisor with ad hoc case management as well as ad hoc HQ support

HR Advisor - Recruitment responsibilities:
• Independently manage the full cycle of internal and external recruitment for leadership positions in new and existing stores within set budgets, ensuring that the organisation recruits the right skills in line with the companies method, guidelines and values
• Responsible for maintaining and updating recruitment processes and material whilst following current legislation and best practice within the Company
• Creatively and innovatively implement new processes to further the development of the resourcing function and establish cost reducing recruitment avenues and partnerships
• Strong understanding of UK recruitment legislation
• Responsible for employer branding internally and externally
• Accountable for weekly updating and reporting on deployment/recruitment matrix to Senior Management and providing advice and support when necessary for improvement towards overall contract spend
• Reporting and maintaining current recruitment statistics

Technical skills/desirable skills for this HR Advisor role:
• CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
Retail experience (essential)
• Strong HR Advisory experience (preferably gained within a retail environment): ability to advise on different issues and to speak confidently around current legislation relating to the Company’s needs
• Evidence of a solid ER background along with the ability to lead processes from investigation right through to dismissal
• Demonstrable workload and project coordination abilities
• Prepared to travel on a regular basis to support stores and Regional Managers with recruitment and HR needs

• High level of confidentiality, discretion, accuracy and attention to detail is essential
• Takes responsibility for own decisions and operates on a “solutions to everyday problems” basis
• Continuous improvement of own learning with a thirst for development
• A good team player who contributes with interest and involvement and is seen as a positive and professional role model by everyone
• Results and goal orientated, tasks are completed with excellent quality and to set deadlines
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• MS office packages (word, excel, PowerPoint) is essential
